Biography

Sebastian is a graphic designer and illustrator born and raised in Venezuela. After moving to New York at the age of 13, he found his voice through the arts, dance, performance, fashion, and culinary. Sebastian’s design often reflects his personal journey and gives a voice and an identity to marginalized communities. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, his work continues to normalize celebrating pride and breaking down barriers. His latest project, Pasta Papi: Spill the Tea, Toss the Pasta, is a perfect example of modern graphic design, dynamic typography, color systems, resilience, activism, and the humor that can be found in the everyday things. Sebastian is a 2024 and 2025 GCSF Scholarship recipient.
The Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation was an instrumental part of my design education and career. They not only empowered me through workshops and professional connections, but they inspired me to continue to pass this tradition of helping one another along to my fellow peers. I made lifelong allies and I feel supported in every step of my design trajectory.
